Abstract
The Lens Opacities Classification System (LOCS) is a simple system for classifying age-related human lens opacities at the slit lamp or in retroilluminated and slit-lamp photographs. The system employs a set of standard Neitz CTR retroilluminated black-and-white photographs for classification of cortical and posterior subcapsular cataracts and a single color slit-lamp photograph for classification of nuclear color and opalescence.
