Abstract
This paper is based on the analysis of 524 autopsies carried out on the victims of road accidents at the Office of the Judicial Medical Officer, Colombo for a 2-year period ending December 1985. 51.4% of the fatalities were among pedestrians. The highest number of fatalities were in the age group 20-29 years. Cranio-cerebral injury was the commonest cause of death in all groups of victims.Entities:
