Abstract
High esophageal stricture associated with a circumferential "inlet patch" of heterotopic gastric mucosa is reported in 2 patients. Biopsy specimens taken from the strictures demonstrated inflamed or ulcerated gastric fundal-type mucosa in both cases. Dilatation of the strictures followed by treatment with histamine H2-antagonists produced almost complete resolution of dysphagia in both patients.Entities:
