To The Editor, The article “Tackling Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID 19) in Workplaces” is a concise review of the measures to be taken at workplace, especially health care facilities to prevent it from emerging into an occupational hazard. The article summarizes the epidemiology, diagnosis, and preventive measures comprehensively. The suggested interim guidelines stress on hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, sick leave, disinfection, curtailed travel, and vigilance.[1] However, for health care providers, specially doctors, a few additional suggestions can be included: The handwashing practices followed in operation theaters and intensive care units have to be universally followed in the entire hospital.[23] Not only is the use of personal protective equipment important but it is also very important to use them effectively and be trained in the same.[4] The hospital administration should designate health-care teams dedicated to Covid-19 patient care.[5] Rapid sequence induction should be used, while noninvasive ventilation should be avoided in critical care units for COVID-19.[5] If the patient requires invasive mechanical ventilation, closed suction and video laryngoscope should be used. Advanced technology may be the solution in future times to come. Telemedicine for patient interview and evaluation is not a farfetched dream.[6] The ultimate weapon remains mass education which is the key to break the rise and spread of this pandemic illness.
