Transabdominal esophageal transection by using a suture device in cases of esophageal varices.

Abstract

We have devised a method of esophageal transection using a suture device. This method interrupts the esophageal varices directly. We have performed this operation in 30 cases with satisfactory results. Blood loss is minimal. The operation is both shorter and simpler than conventional technics.
