Abstract
Saccharomyces cerevisiae was isolated on two separate occasions from the blood of a patient with chronic renal failure receiving dialysis. Treatment was complicated by recurrent ventricular tachycardia occurring after both 1 mg and 0.1 mg test doses of amphotericin. We report the unique clinical and microbiological aspects of this patient's management, and review the literature pertinent to this organism.Entities:
