Abstract
Short-term use of hormone replacement therapy is potentially useful in alleviating menopausal symptoms. Some people have suggested that it may also have a role in preventing certain other conditions. This could mean large numbers of women taking this therapy for quite long periods. Do we know enough about the long-term effects to recommend such use?
