Prognostic value of angiography in early failure of renal transplants.

L Laasonen.

Abstract

The angiographic findings in 18 patients with irreversible rejection and in 20 patients who regained satisfactory renal function were compared. In 13 of the 18 patients who lost their transplants the outcome was predictable from the angiographic appearances. The diagnosis of irreversibility was more accurate in patients whose transplanted kidneys never functioned and when angiography was performed not earlier than 4 days after the onset of clinical signs of rejection.
