Abstract
Little attention has been afforded the relevance of constipation to urinary symptoms. Problems of definition and measurement have contributed to this problem. A review of the literature suggests that rectal dilatation may influence the function of the urinary tract leading to urinary tract infection and enuresis. Our studies indicate that constipation may, by causing uninhibited bladder contractions, cause urinary tract infection, enuresis and vesicoureteral reflux.Entities:
