Abstract
This monograph reviews the literature regarding therapy for childhood idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). The role and mechanism of action are discussed for corticosteroids, splenectomy, and intravenous gamma globulin. Alternative therapies with potent immunosuppressive agents are also mentioned.
