Abstract
A diverse number of hematologic abnormalities may occur in association with gastrointestinal disease. For example, deficiencies of iron, folate, and vitamin B12 often accompany and may be the first clue to diseases such as colon cancer, celiac sprue, and chronic gastritis, respectively. A compilation of the hematologic disorders associated with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and pancreas is provided.Entities:
