Abstract
Ninety-seven (42%) Escherichia coli strains isolated in Senegal from fecal samples produced beta-lactamases. Among them, 29 (30%) isolates produced SHV-1 beta-lactamase that was plasmid mediated. The plasmids belonged to four incompatibility groups. Various degrees of TEM-1 expression in the presence of SHV-1 were observed.Entities:
