Abstract
The role of MRI in evaluating renal diseases has not yet been fully defined. Despite some inherent limitations due to motion and failure to confidently define calcifications, MRI can display normal and pathologic anatomy with great clarity. MRI is useful in the staging of renal carcinoma, especially in the evaluation of vascular invasion. Bulky tumors are best depicted with MRI, especially when the organ or origin is in question. Contrast agents, fast scan techniques, and spectroscopy hold great promise for the future.Entities:
