Abstract
The first Asian case of oral nerve sheath myxoma is presented, along with the findings of light and electron microscopy, and immunohistochemistry. Ultrastructurally, intracytoplasmic microfilaments and convoluted basement membrane were identified in the tumor cells. Immunohistochemically, S-100 protein and neuron-specific enolase were positive in the tumor cells. These findings may indicate that the tumor is a lesion of Schwann-cell origin. The literature on oral nerve sheath myxoma is also reviewed and discussed.Entities:
