Abstract
A 3.5-year-old boy presented twice within 36 hours to an emergency department with worsening abdominal distress. At surgery, an isolated axial volvulus of a Meckel's diverticulum was found. This finding has been reported three times in the last 20 years and has involved only adult patients. Meckel's diverticulum, although uncommon, can be extremely serious. Its presentation and pathophysiology are reviewed.Entities:
