Abstract
OBJECTIVE: The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has considerably burdened the healthcare system in the Hubei Province, the most severely affected region in China. The aim of our study was to assess the psychological effects of COVID-19 epidemic on the healthcare workers in Hubei.Entities:

Continuous variables are presented as median (IQR) (Mann-Whitney test). Categorical variables are expressed as number (percentages) (Chi-square or Yates’ continuity corrected chi-square test). aP values indicate differences between non-medical staff and medical staff. bP values indicate differences between non-frontline and frontline medical workers. P < 0·05 was considered statistically significant.
