Abstract
This article summarizes discussion, conclusions, and recommendations of participants in a National Institute of Mental Health-sponsored workshop dealing with major issues in family and genetic studies of affective disorders. Key up-to-date findings in the field are reviewed with emphasis on areas of agreement. Remaining controversies and problems are identified, and a set of overall conclusions and recommendations for future research activities in the field is presented.Entities:
