Abstract
Recent advances in understanding the physiology and pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal hormone, gastrin, are reviewed. Details of gastrin biosynthesis, secretion, and cellular actions may have broad implications for other peptide hormones. Potentially useful antigastrin drugs are described.
