Abstract
Embedding physiological markers into treatment algorithms has helped trauma teams rationalise interventions safely and signifies a departure from the dichotomy of damage control orthopaedics (DCO) and early total care (ETC) to early appropriate care (EAC). This has been shown to reduce length of stay and cost to treating centres. This article seeks to provide a clear summary of current concepts for managing orthopaedic injuries in the multiply injured patient.Entities:
