Figure 1Hypertension prevalence, awareness, and control in the Hispanics Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL) and National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007 to 2010. Prevalence of hypertension in HCHS/SOL participants with chronic kidney disease (CKD) was lower than the prevalence in non-Hispanic whites with CKD in NHANES. Hypertension awareness and control were higher among non-Hispanic whites than in the other groups. Of note, rates among individuals of Mexican background were similar in the 2 cohorts.
