Figure 1A) The tumor cells were large with a high nuclear/cytoplasmic ratio, severe atypia, and prominent nucleoli or salt and pepper appearance. Numerous mitotic figures and apoptotic bodies were observed (H&E, × 400). B) Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for synaptophysin (x 400).
