Abstract
We present a new strategy for the biomimetic preparation of integrated photoactive complexes consisting of light harvesting and electron separation/transfer components via the hierarchical assembly of porphyrin and platinum nanoparticles on the surface of short-peptide self-assembled structures. The complexes can catalyze the conversion of visible light energy into chemical energy in the absence of an electron mediator and store it as nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH). This provides a promising step towards artificial photosystems through precisely controlled interactions of light-capturing agents, electron separators and biomolecules.Entities:
