Abstract
Phytohormones enable plants to regulate their development, growth and physiology according to the environmental requirements. Knowledge about the underlying signaling mechanisms, combined with the ability to pharmacologically or genetically manipulate phytohormone responses is steadily being incorporated into modern plant biology research and agriculture. This knowledge also enabled the development of genetically encoded phytohormone indicators that allow the tracking of spatiotemporal phytohormone dynamics and signaling processes in vivo. This review aims to provide an overview about core phytohormone signaling mechanisms, and about genetic tools for the manipulation and in vivo tracking of phytohormone actions.Year: 2020 PMID: 32622326 DOI: 10.1016/j.pbi.2020.05.011
