Abstract
The cases of two patients with severe intoxication with organophosphorus pesticides and heavy gastroduodenal complications are presented. In the first patient an acute gastric ulcer with perforation and diffuse peritonitis developed and the patient died on the third day. In the second patient two post bulbar duodenal ulcers develops with a hemorrhage from one of them. The patient was successfully operated but after 4 days a relaparotomy was performed because of obstructive ileus. He was discharged from the hospital in a good general condition after an 80 day treatment. The possibility of such severe gastroduodenal complications of acute intoxication with organophosphorus pesticides is pointed out. Urgent fiber gastroduodenoscopy and timely operation are essential for the favourable outcome of the disease.Entities:
