Abstract
Tracheobronchial fistula (TBF) is a challenging management condition. Several bronchoscopic procedures have been tried for fistula closure. However, none has been found superior to the others. We herein describe a novel technique involving the submucosally injection of autologous platelet-rich plasma (auto-PRP) around the fistula to close the TBF. After auto-PRP treatment, all three TBF patients have successfully healed. No treatment-related complications and fistula-related symptoms were detected. To our knowledge, this is the first-in-human successful application of auto-PRP for fistula closure, which may offer a valuable therapeutic alternative.Entities:
