Abstract
Digital health tools have the potential to improve health decision-making. Early evidence suggests their use may even be able to improve health outcomes. However, some health information and digital tools are not understandable or accessible to the majority of the U.S. population. This report explores the current disconnect between online health information and users. The authors provide a summary of practical strategies to address this gap and suggest next steps for further research. Keywords: Digital health tools; eHealth; health literacy; insurance enrollment; mHealth; patient portals; usability
