Prevalence values are weighted proportions. Retraction rate is defined as the proportion of Wave 1 respondents who shifted their answers from “Yes” to “No” between waves; apparent initiation rate is defined as the proportion of Wave 1 respondents who shifted their answers from “No” to “Yes” between waves.
Sample interpretation (using the behavior “ever gone on a date”): 7% of children reported having ever gone on a date during Wave 1. Of those, 86.6% retracted their response in Wave 2. Wave 2 prevalence is 5.7%, 80.5% of which was driven by apparent initiation between Waves 1 and 2.
