Fig. 1Infusion cannula, vitrector and light-pipe were inserted through the preexisting holes around the TKP. The surgeon could also use the instruments to perform anterior vitrectomy at the beginning of the case before advancing the instruments backward to the posterior segment. The holes in the TKP allow the unrestricted movement of the instruments to the desired areas.
Fig. 2The good visualization of the posterior segment was appreciated. The posterior vitreous membrane could also be seen and lifted off from the retinal surface. The underlying retinal vessels and retinal periphery were visualized behind it.
Fig. 3The TKP provides a good view of the peripheral retina and allows surgeon to visualize it even with scleral depression.
