Abstract
BACKGROUND: There are few primary care studies of the COVID-19 pandemic. We aimed to identify demographic and clinical risk factors for testing positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) within the Oxford Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Research and Surveillance Centre primary care network.Entities:

Data are n (%). SARS-CoV-2=severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. BMI=body-mass index.
Socioeconomic deprivation level was assessed at the practice level using the English Index of Multiple Deprivation quintiles.
BMI categories were based on WHO classification (normal weight 18·5–24·9 kg/m2, overweight 25·0–29·9 kg/m2, obese 30·0–39·9 kg/m2, severely obese ≥40 kg/m2).
