APA Makes a Short Cut for Ramping up HSC Metabolism.

Shuai Jiang1.

Abstract

The physiological role of alternative polyadenylation (APA) in controlling hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) behavior in vivo, and the mechanistic implications of this association, remain elusive. Now in Cell Stem Cell, Sommerkamp et al. (2020) provide evidence that APA regulates HSC self-renewal and multi-potency by affecting stem cell activation and glutaminolysis.
