Abstract
Two types of amyloid can be differentiated by light microscopy, immunocytochemistry, and electron microscopy. The more frequent type (stellate/perivascular amyloid) is a secretory product of the adenoma cells whereas the second, rare type (spheroid amyloid) is formed by remnants of the cytoskeleton of necrotic adenoma cells.Entities:
