New insights on infant ABR hearing screening.

P R Kileny1.

Abstract

This paper addresses several important aspects related to the use of ABR for infant hearing screening: (1) It will introduce a new automated ABR screening procedure and summarize the results of its clinical validation trials; (2) The relationship between initial ABR results and long-term behavioral audiometric testing in a group of severe to profoundly hearing-impaired children will be discussed; (3) The concept and applicability of tonal ABRs for infant screening will also be discussed.
