Abstract
Sexual desire is a cognitive and affective state that motivates an individual to engage in sexual activity. There are no validated measures to assess this construct in Colombia. The present study aimed to validate the Sexual Desire Inventory (SDI) and explore gender-and age-based differences in sexual desire in Colombian population. The sample was composed of 2,125 men and women who answered the Colombian version of the SDI. Results indicated strict invariance between genders, a three-dimension model, and acceptable validity and reliability indicators. Gender-based and age-based differences were observed in the three types of sexual desire. Implications and conclusions of these findings are presented.Entities:
