Abstract
BACKGROUND: In younger adults, residual alterations in functional neural networks persist during remitted depression. However, there are fewer data for midlife and older adults at risk of recurrence. Such residual network alterations may contribute to vulnerability to recurrence. This study examined intrinsic network functional connectivity in midlife and older women with remitted depression.Entities:

Figure 1Visualization of the approximate anatomical location of connectivity differences between groups. (A) The MDDHx group exhibited decreased functional connectivity between the SN seed (right insula) and the left superior frontal gyrus compared to the NoHx group. (B) MDDHx exhibited increased functional connectivity between the left hippocampus seed and the left postcentral gyrus. SN, salience network; NoHx, No history of depression; MDDHx, History of depression; L, left hemisphere; R, right hemisphere; A, anterior; P, posterior.
