Abstract
Evidence is provided to show that the account of "The Climacteric Disease" given in 1813 by Sir Henry Halford, Physician to King George III, was his interpretation that the King's illness was due to aging as a disease. This laid foundations upon which are placed the unfavorable attitudes toward Geriatric Medicine today, and which may effect the provision of medical care for the elderly and aged tomorrow.Entities:
