Parosteal (periosteal) lipoma.

I Krajewska1, B Vernon-Roberts, G Sorby-Adams.

Abstract

Parosteal (periosteal) lipoma is a rare tumour, comprising 0.3% of all lipomas. A parosteal lipoma of the mid humerus which presented in a female of 22 years was associated with changes in the adjacent bone. A review of the literature revealed only one previously reported similar case. The etiology, presenting symptoms, complications, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of parosteal lipoma are discussed.
