Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS: It is unclear whether corticosteroid use in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) improves survival. Other cause of ARDS included drowning (n = 3), inhalation (n = 2), vasculitis (n = 4), diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (n = 14), and drug-induced (n = 12).
Non-sepsis included pancreatitis (n = 1), transfusion-related acute lung injury (n = 23), trauma (n = 6), and anaphylaxis (n = 1).
