Acupuncture, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and the Energetics of Stimulants.

Michael T Greenwood1.

Abstract

The use of prescription stimulants for attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is increasing. Yet some people would question whether ADHD is a disease at all or just part of a spectrum of normal human behavior. Chinese Medicine (CM) tends toward the latter, regarding the syndrome as an expression of a Heart-Mind (Xin) imbalance. In this article, the author discusses the energetics of ADHD and stimulants while exploring acupuncture options. Copyright 2020, Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers.
