Abstract
Non-occlusive mesenteric ischemia (NOMI) is the result of the reduction of mesenteric blood supply, due to mesenteric arterial vasoconstriction secondary to hypotension in cases of shock, septicemia, dehydration, heart surgery, or major abdominal surgery. NOMI represents a complex and often misdiagnosed syndrome. Imaging, and in particular CT, has a remarkable importance in NOMI, and despite its complexity, it could allow an early diagnosis and an improved management resulting in life-threatening therapeutic approaches, much better than in the past, provided it is correctly performed and interpreted by experienced radiologists.Entities:
