The data are presented as n (%) unless stated otherwise. aOne patient was included in both groups as she was given meglumine antimoniate after an anaphylactic reaction to amphotericin B. bSpecies isolation was made with matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight spectroscopy on positive cultures of skin biopsies or, in case of negative cultures, with polymerase chain reaction–restriction fragment length polymorphism on skin biopsies, or polymerase chain reaction and Hsp70 sequencing on cotton swabs.
