Abstract
A subaortic aneurysm of the left ventricle resulting in massive hemopericardium is described. The anatomy of the aortic anulus, aortic valve, and pericardial reflections at the base of the heart are constructed in a manner that allows the migration of blood from the left ventricle, through an area of aortic anular dehiscence, resulting in the formation of a false aneurysm. The pertinent anatomy is described, as well as pathogenesis and similar cases in the literature.Entities:
