Abstract
A 21-year-old patient with anorexia developed re-expansion pulmonary edema after delayed drainage of traumatic pneumothorax. The patient was treated with non-invasive respiratory support [helmet continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and nasal high flow] until the resolution of the edema. Risk factors associated with re-expansion pulmonary edema are anorexia nervosa, prolonged lung collapse, age in the 20-39 range and re-expansion by high suctioning pressure. 2019 AME Case Reports.
