Abstract
The hallux valgus is one of the most challenging foot and ankle deformities to correct. The current concept is to consider the hallux valgus as a triplane deformity, and the parameters in transverse, sagittal, and frontal planes must be considered. The hallux valgus angle, intermetatarsal angle, tibial sesamoid position, and lateral edge of the first metatarsal head are valuable parameters to evaluate to understand the magnitude of the deformity. Diaphyseal corrections, such as scarf, and proximal interventions, such as crescentic osteotomy and Lapidus arthrodesis, are the most powerful techniques to address triplane deformity, because they are able to correct all misalignments.Entities:
