Abstract
AIMS: Among acute coronary syndromes (ACS), ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has the most severe early clinical course. Recent randomized clinical trials have demonstrated that novel antithrombotic therapies improve in-hospital outcomes in STEMI patients. We aimed to describe the effectiveness and safety of P2Y12 receptor inhibitors in clinical practice in patients with STEMI based on data from contemporary European ACS registries. Percentages are based on the total number of patients excluding missing and unknown data. For BELGIUM, prior MI includes prior PCI and CABG. CKD is defined as either serum creatinine >1.5 mg/dL or eGFR <60/mL/m². For AAPCI-ADAPT, prior PCI includes prior CABG. CABG, coronary artery bypass grafting; NA, not applicable; TIA, transient ischaemic attack.
