Percentages calculated using the total number of patients ≤18 years in the Western Cape Province, on the database (N) for each respective year, as denominator. The total number of patients stratified by geographic location may differ from the total number of unique patients in the study population (Table 1). Geographic location for patients was determined using the postal code of the provider (i.e. the municipal main place where the medicine was claimed) as proxy. Patients who made use of different service providers located in different municipalities/districts could, therefore be counted more than once.
