Abstract
AIMS: Risk estimation is important to motivate patients to adhere to treatment and to identify those in whom additional treatments may be warranted and expensive treatments might be most cost effective. Our aim was to develop a simple risk model based on readily available risk factors for patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD). METHODS ANDEntities:

Hazard ratios and P-values for the variables included in the model. Statistics are n (%) with the exception of age which is summarized as mean (SD). All binary HRs have referent of not having the characteristic specified. For categorical variables with more than two categories, overall P-values for the variables are also given. Conditional χ2 statistics are given for each variable.
AF, atrial fibrillation; CI, confidence interval; CHF, congestive heart failure; HR, hazard ratio; MI, myocardial infarction; PAD, peripheral arterial disease; PCI, percutaneous coronary intervention; SD, standard deviation.
