Abstract
The uncontrolled production of reactive oxygen species during photodynamic therapy (PDT) induces oxidative stress. The full potential of PDT is accomplished by delivery of a pi-extended porphyrin-type photosensitizer into mitochondria of tumor cells using a MITO-Porter, a mitochondrial targeting nanodevice.
