Abstract
BACKGROUND: Sweet cherry (Prunus avium) is one of the most popular of the temperate fruits. Previous studies have demonstrated that there were several haplotypes in the chloroplast genome of sweet cherry cultivars. However, none of chloroplast genome of a sweet cherry cultivar were yet released, and the phylogenetic relationships among Prunus based on chloroplast genome data were unclear.Entities:

Figure 1Chloroplast genome map of P. avium ‘Summit’.
Genes inside the circle are transcribed clockwise, and those outside are transcribed counterclockwise. Genes of different functions are color-coded. The darker gray in the inner circle shows the GC content, while the lighter gray shows the AT content.
Basic features of cp genomes of reported Prunus species.
