Data are presented as mean ± SD or n (%). Elevated waist circumference was diagnosed as a waist circumference > 90 cm for males and > 80 cm for females. Elevated TG was diagnosed as a TG level > 150 mg/dL (1.7 mmol/L), or drug treatment for elevated TG. Reduced HDL was diagnosed as a HDL level < 40 mg/dL (1.00 mmol/L) in men and < 50 mg/dL (1.30 mmol/L) in women, or drug treatment for reduced HDL. Elevated BP was diagnosed as a SBP ≥ 130 mmHg and/or DBP ≥ 85 mmHg and/or antihypertention drug treatment in a patient with a history of physician-confirmed hypertension
