Abstract
Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) is postulated to be caused due to a multitude of factors, but a definitive cause is seldom found despite extensive investigations. We present a rare case of sudden SNHL in which central venous thrombosis was found on magnetic resonance imaging. The case highlights the importance of neuroimaging in all cases of sudden SNHL before being labelled as "idiopathic" so that targeted therapy can be given. © Association of Otolaryngologists of India 2018.Entities:
